A branch of Hong Kong Institute of Languages, a leading language school established in Hong Kong for 38 years, Hong Kong Kids Academy specialises in language courses and activities for children 3-12, including mother tongue support, as well as language immersion playgroups for children from 9 months old.

Courses and playgroups are available in 5 languages: English, French, German, Spanish and Mandarin.

In response to the growing demand, we recently launched special German courses.

Information and details regarding our programmes:

German Playgroup, ages 2 to 5

This playgroup is aimed at families who wish for their child to be educated in German from an early age and/or to join German-Swiss International School at a later stage. This class focuses on language development and cultural discovery.
Learning takes place through various hands-on and interactive activities aiming to develop language skills but also cognitive, social and physical development.

Some of the key learning areas comprise:

• Language acquisition and vocabulary development
• Visual arts and Music exploration
• Observation skills and Logical Thinking Development (Mathematical initiation)
• Discovery and exploration of the World (Time, Space, Objects, Living Things,
  Matter, Fives senses…)
• Motor skills and Physical Development

Available Monday to Friday in the morning or in the afternoon for 2 hours, 2 to 5 times a week.

German Workshop, ages 3-12 (grouped by age and level)

This programme is aimed at children already schooled in the German system or wishing to practise their German language skills in a fun way.

It encourages the use of the German language through fun and educational activities, such as visual arts, cooking, storytelling, singing, drama, science/STEM projects…

Available Monday to Friday after school or on Saturday in the morning or afternoon.

12 children maximum per class.

Regular time-slot : a. Every Thursday at 16:30-18:00 (1.5 hours per group class)

b. Every Saturday at 15:15-16:45 (1.5 hours per group class)

German Academic Support, ages 6-12 (grouped by age and level)

This programme is aimed at children schooled in the German system, in need of special support to maximise school results and achieve better progress.

It comprises the practise of the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Available Monday to Friday after school or on Saturday in the morning or afternoon.

German Mother-Tongue Support, ages 6-12 (grouped by age and level)

This programme is aimed at German-speaking children not educated in the German school system who need to practise and develop their German language skills.

This programme’s objectives are broad and diverse:

• Develop German language skills appropriate to the student’s age, enrich vocabulary and oral expression;
• Develop competencies regularly acquired in the German school system;
• Discover German culture through songs, stories, poetry, and activities related to German traditions;
• Preserve and strengthen links with the child’s German cultural heritage and roots;
• Make new German friends.

Available Monday to Friday after school or on Saturday in the morning or afternoon.
