In order to assist us in the smooth running of our courses, please kindly note the following:

  1. All fees are payable in advance.
  2. The first installment of fees shall be paid at the time of registration and at the latest 24 hours before the start of the first class and is not refundable. Thereafter payments are due upon renewal.
  3. Fees should be paid by crossed cheque to: "HK INSTITUTE OF LANGUAGES LTD", Cash, EPS or by American Express credit card (ask for details of our special partnership with American Express). Please note that some restrictions apply to payments by American Express.
  4. Fee payments should be attached to the confirmation/invoice copy and settled in person or sent by post to: Account dept, HK Institute of Languages, 6/F Wellington Plaza, 56-58 Wellington Street, Central, Hong Kong. Tel: 2877 6160  -  Email: educationteam@hklanguages.com
  5. Cash payments will only be accepted at the student’s own risk. Should any discrepancy occur, the Institute’s record of payments received will prevail.
  6. Receipts will be issued for each payment.
  7. Fees will be revised from time to time.

  1. Only Private / Semi-Private classes may be rescheduled. Rescheduling is not possible for Saturday classes, and classes will be charged whether the student attends or not.
    1. Any requests for rescheduling must be communicated to the Institute 24 hours in advance or at the latest by 5pm on the working day preceding the class by telephoning the Institute on 2877 6160. Classes will then be re-scheduled to a mutually convenient time. Failure to provide adequate notice shall result in any missed class being forfeited and charged in full.
    2. Group classes cannot be rescheduled and will be charged in full even if the student is absent from the class and we have been duly informed beforehand. However we do offer private make-up lessons (face to face or via Skype) at a special discounted fee - please ask for details.
    3. Registration for the class will be carried forward from one month to the next until a one-month notice for withdrawal is received. Failure to provide proper advance notice for withdrawal from the class will result in the next month’s tuition fees being charged in full. Any permanent change in class arrangement or schedule also requires one month’s notice.

  1. For outside classes, transport fees are calculated according to the travelling time from the Institute to a location that is easily accessible by public transport, i.e. near an MTR / KCR station, or near a bus stop on a frequently serviced bus route.
  2. Classes held outside such zones shall incur a transport surcharge. If it is possible for you to arrange for a driver to escort the teacher to and from the nearest MTR / KCR station or bus stop, such transport surcharge may be waived.

  1. If the ‘Typhoon No. 8’ signal is hoisted, classes will automatically be cancelled. Classes will resume three hours after the signal is lowered.
  2. If the Black Rain signal is hoisted, all outside classes will normally be cancelled. Some classes at the Institute may continue as normal. Please call the Institute on 2877 6160 to check the situation.
  3. We regret that we are unable to offer reimbursements for such cancelled classes. However, we will try our best to reschedule the missed classes to a mutually convenient day and time.
